  • 1 Tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 Tbsp dried thyme
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine saffron threads with warm water and let sit for 10 minutes to release the color and flavor.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, salt, honey, olive oil, dried oregano, dried thyme, and active dry yeast.
  3. Add the saffron water mixture to the flour mixture and stir until combined.
  4. Gradually add the warm water while kneading the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, approximately 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough to release air bubbles and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Allow the dough to rise again for 30 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
