  • 3 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 buns

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the pork shoulder.
  3. Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker.
  4. Pour the barbecue sauce over the top of the pork.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
  6. Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred with two forks.
  7. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the juices.
