Tender cinnamon rolls topped with rich cream cheese frosting make a delightful treat or breakfast indulgence.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp yeast
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp milk
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, eggs, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and roll it out into a 12×18 inch rectangle.
- Spread 1/4 cup of melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 even slices.
- Place the rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Cover and let rise again for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- While the rolls bake, prepare the frosting by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- Once the rolls are baked, allow them to cool for a few minutes before spreading the cream cheese frosting on top.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
