  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 1 Tbsp green onions, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dredge the chicken pieces in the flour mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated, then shake off excess.
  4. Fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, approximately 10-12 minutes per batch. Ensure each piece reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. While the chicken is frying, combine the gochujang, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and garlic in a separate bowl to make the sauce.
  6. Once the chicken is fried, toss it in the sauce until each piece is well coated.
  7. Garnish the coated chicken with sesame seeds and chopped green onions just before serving.
