Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 oz dried ancho chilies, stems and seeds removed
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 whole onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 4 oz Mexican chocolate

Instructions

  1. Toast the dried chilies in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant, then transfer them to a bowl.
  2. Cover the toasted chilies with hot water and let them soak for 30 minutes. Drain the chilies.
  3. In a blender, combine the drained chilies, raisins, onion, garlic, cinnamon, cumin, and Mexican chocolate. Blend until the mixture is smooth.
