Ingredients
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 tsp dry yeast
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, dry yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- Add the beaten eggs, melted butter, salt, and all-purpose flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into rounds using a cookie cutter. Let them rise on a baking sheet for another 30 minutes.
- In a pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully fry the doughnuts in batches until golden brown on each side, about 1-2 minutes per side.
- Remove doughnuts with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. While still warm, coat the doughnuts in powdered sugar before serving.
