These citrus grilled shrimp skewers are juicy and flavorful, thanks to a zesty chili lime marinade that enhances every bite.
Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon lime zest
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- wooden skewers
Instructions
- Soak the wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, honey, soy sauce, chili powder, garlic, lime zest, black pepper, and salt to make the marinade.
- Add the shrimp to the marinade, and toss well to coat completely. Allow the shrimp to marinate in the refrigerator for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, about 4 to 5 shrimp per skewer.
- Grill the skewers for about 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through.
- Remove from the grill and serve immediately, garnished with lime wedges if desired.
