Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 pack wonton wrappers

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground pork, shrimp, mushrooms, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of a wonton wrapper.
  3. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then gather and pleat the edges to form a cup shape.
  4. Repeat the process with the remaining filling and wrappers.
  5. Line a steamer basket with parchment paper and arrange the shumai in a single layer.
  6. Bring water to a boil in a pot and place the steamer basket over the pot, ensuring it does not touch the water.
  7. Steam the shumai for 12-15 minutes until cooked through.
  8. Remove from the steamer and serve hot with soy sauce or a preferred dipping sauce.
