Fried Dumplings offer a delightful combination of savory fillings encased in crispy, golden-brown wrappers. These dumplings, often enjoyed as appetizers or snacks, can also serve as a main course. The preparation involves mixing the flavorful filling, wrapping it carefully in dough, and frying until crispy. The contrast between the crunchy exterior and the savory interior is particularly appealing. Serve Fried Dumplings with soy sauce or a dipping sauce of choice for a flavorful meal.
Ingredients
- 1 package dumpling wrappers
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp ginger, grated
- 1/2 cup cabbage, finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp green onions, chopped
- 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, thoroughly combine the ground pork, garlic, soy sauce, ginger, cabbage, and green onions.
- Place a heaping teaspoon of the pork mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of each wrapper with a little water, then fold and crimp to seal the dumplings securely.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Arrange dumplings in a single layer without overlapping.
- Cook until the bottoms are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Carefully add 1/4 cup water to the pan, then cover to steam for about 5 minutes.
- Uncover the pan and continue cooking until the water evaporates and the bottoms are crispy again, about 2 more minutes.
- Transfer the dumplings to a serving dish and serve immediately with soy sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.
