Fried Wontons are a delightful appetizer or snack that combines savory fillings with crispy, golden wrappers. This recipe features a simple yet flavorful pork and vegetable filling encased in thin wonton wrappers. Deep-fried to achieve a crunchy texture, these wontons are complemented by a dipping sauce. Great for parties or as a snack, Fried Wontons offer a crispy texture and delicious flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup cabbage, shredded
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 24 pieces wonton wrappers
  • 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground pork, shredded cabbage, minced garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil until well combined.
  2. Place a small amount of filling in the center of a wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water and fold in half to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Fry the wontons in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
  4. Remove the wontons with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  5. Serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice, such as soy sauce or sweet chili sauce.
